I just had the most wonderful weekend away in Crewe Hall, Cheshire, where I spent an evening at the ‘Guild of Photographers’ annual awards dinner.
Mingling and finally meeting face to face with fellow photographers in the Guild that I have become acquainted with over the forum. I am so excited to share that I won a “PHOTOGRAPHERS BAR”! Only 26 people won this award across the UK and internationally and I am one proud photographer to be named one of them. Just to let you know what this award entails…
“The Photographers Bar is awarded to very few photographers who have successfully had images assessed by the Guild month after month over the course of the year and have attained a score equating to an award for each image entered, thereby evidencing an exceptional level of professional skill and consistency”
This was a daunting personal commitment that I made back in January 2013. It was tough but I stuck to it, spending hours fine-tuning the images to be ready for judging, hoping every month my three images entered would be award winners… As any Guild member will tell you, we all sit glued to our emails on the 21st of every month, anxiously awaiting RESULTS DAY!
The results were good! My hard work paid off and I was so proud to walk up and accept my award on the evening.
A special thank you to all my clients who supported me and were more than happy to have an image of themselves or child entered into competition. Looking forward to 2014 with new challenges ahead!
